April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking lessons on piano and guitar at age seven. She was interested in songwriting was awakened. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. The year she turned 14 was when she spent a lot of her time making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. Soon, April began taking trips in NY and LA together with her father to help them to write songs. April started to include other subjects in her book Take My Hand to help her friends who were dealing with disabilities, peer pressure or suicide. Lockhart is a partner at famous clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not the entire image. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she isn't making it the focal point of her story. It's a message. It's important to keep in mind that everyone has numerous faces. Our identities are diverse and we are much beyond our body. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart in a video interview "I do not believe that disability will define my character. I don't intend to be an influencer on disability, because I've so much more to offer." It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do things normally, and I've discovered the best way for me to adapt to things. Because it's an integral part of me, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Lockhart, a real inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve it. She has had periods where she felt insecure about dressing in certain styles that showed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. The journey itself is what I don't know that will ever be the end of self-love. It's the same for everybody regardless of their insecurity. It's essential to surround yourself with people who are able to see and know your true heart.
